Did you know they were making a movie of Mr. Popper’s Penguins?

BECAUSE I DIDN’T! Until I read the Entertainment Weekly with HP on the cover.

sooooooo, um how come Jim Carrey looks like this in the movie?

just because of that, this will probably be a rental 😦 I can’t afford to buy an expensive movie ticket on a classic children’s story if no mustache nor red bow tie are involved. This was one movie that would have been WAY FUNNIER if they had kept the original time period with funny pants. I will totally be renting it though because I LOVE Mr. Popper’s Penguins even if I don’t really remember what happens in it.

I am also very upset about the lack of bow tie. I am not sure what the actual story is because I read it a while ago, but I remember thinking that it was too dated to be made into a movie set in today’s world. I think they will have to change SOOO much of the original story for it to work.

Confession: I’ve never read this book. I feel like it’s one of those classics that somehow I missed. Should I go back?

Maybe he grows a mustache and wears a bowtie later on in the movie? Is there a trailer for this yet? If there’s no mustache/bowtie in the trailer then I’m out.
Also, Jill, it’s super short and cute so you could read it in like a half hour (I think…I can’t actually remember how long it is, but it’s Dahl. He’s the king of short and awesome.).
    I want a penguin.

Actually it was written by Richard and Florence Atwater–but does totally feel like Dahl I remember.

OMG, I can’t believe I said that! Maybe I thought that because you lent it to me with some Dahl books? Yeah, I think that’s what happened. And it was like 4 years ago. Whooooopsy daisies!
