I Always Love to be Reminded of Old Nickelodeon Shows

I used to love going to my grandparent’s house when I was little because they were lucky enough to have Nickeolodeon.  We didn’t get that channel in our town, but they had it in the big city of Des Moines.  My sister and I loved to watch the Snick shows (Saturday Night Nick Shows for those of you who don’t know).  All That, Are You Afraid of the Dark, and Keenan and Kel were some of my faves.

One of my favorites was The Secret World of Alex Mack.  It was about a girl who was doused with a chemical that allowed her to morph into a puddle whenever she wanted to.  You might think that sounds lame, but trust me, it was awesome.

(I wanted to show the opening credits here, but I couldn’t find them, so here is a cool little music video)

Well, anyway, I was hanging out with fellow NerdGirl Amber, and we saw this commercial:

And I said, “Look, it’s Annie from Alex Mack!!”  Oh, how I miss those old shows.  The first season of Alex Mack is on DVD, but really, Nick needs to release all the classic shows on DVD.  Sigh, good times.

P.S.  I’m kind of sad that Annie has to do Bud Light commercials now.

I didn’t have Nickeolodeon growing up either, so I’m not sure I’ve ever seen the show BUT I think I’ve read every single one of the books. I bet I still have a ton of those and the Full House Stephanie books still in a box at home.

I’m sad that you’ve never seen the show…..it is a wonderful, wonderful contribution to television.

I was a big fan of Fifteen (Ryan Reynolds!), Welcome Freshman, and Clarissa Explains It All.
