Craig Ferguson is My Favorite Talk-Show Host

With Conan gone — but coming back in the fall (WOO!) — Craig Ferguson is now my favorite talk-show host.  His abnormal talk-show style is fabulous.  He has no band, no side kick (until recently, more on that later), and I feel like his monologues are really stand-up acts and not jokes of that day’s news whipped up really quickly.  I laugh a lot when I watch the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson…and that always pleasantly surprises me.  Plus he’s always up for anything on his show.  For his 1000th episode, the whole show was done with puppets.  And one time wind caused a major blackout, so he finished his show with just a flashlight for lighting.

But the funniest thing I’ve seen on his show so far is the introduction of his new robot sidekick.  His new sidekick was built by one of the guys on Mythbusters in return for Craig’s helping him get more followers on Twitter.  (You can really tell I belong on NerdGirlBlogging if I follow Craig Ferguson and the people of Mythbusters on Twitter, right?)  Here’s the video of Geoff Ferguson’s introduction.  Enjoy!

Oh how I love talented lip sync-ers.  🙂

I totally miss watching those guys! I used to watch Conan everynight until sometime I stopped—I think I started hoping I would go to bed earlier so at night, even though I am still watching TV, I avoid turning it to the networks because for some reason that makes me think “Jimmy is on. I should be in bed.” Whereas if I am watching International House Hunters on HGTV then there is no concept of time connected to it…

I LOVE Craig Ferguson!!! I just remember the time when Britney was going through all the head shaving crap and he said he wsa not going to make fun of her because she obviously needed help, and he knew what that was like, so he wasn’t going to talk about her on his show. I remember thinking, “Bravo!!! He knows how to be funny without going for the easy targets.”
