    Is that because he’s gay?

  2. 2 ngtamber April 1, 2008 at 8:49 pm

No, we discussed his feelings and although he loves Michael Gambon, he is not in love with Michael Gambon. Dumbledore hearts the actor platonically and respects him for accurately portraying his own true character in the Harry Potter movies. If he hearted him in the gay way I would have been worried because we all know Dumbledore has the WORST taste in men.

can anyone translate that comment for me?

    • 6 Luiz February 5, 2012 at 11:40 pm

That comment right above yours? It says “It’s not true, he’s not gay!!” (I didn’t take the grammar mistakes into account.) It’s written in Brazilan Portuguese.
P.S.: I know it’s been ages since this comment of yours was posted, but I just couldn’t help but reply. The urge was stronger than me, you know.

I thought about it before I approved it, but then I got lazy. So after a lot of exploration on yahoo babel, and other places of translation, I think it means: This is a lie, he is not gay!! Isso is this, ele is he, mentira is lie, gay is gay, e I think is is, and I’m guessing naum is not, but I haven’t confirmed this one. I think the language is Portuguese, but not traditional.

thats not traditional portuguese, you’re right.i’m portuguese. we call that untraditional “language” calão.and it means “that is a lie, he’s not gay!” isso means “that” é means “is” mentira means “lie” gay means obviously gay and naum is “calão” for not.
but that is brazilian portuguese.brazilian say isso and portuguese from portugal (like me) say “é mentira, ele não (means not, the traditional portuguese)é gay!”

OK, this is driving me crazy. For all you future readers of this post who feel the need to comment about this. Let me clear it up. The picture is of Richard Harris as Dumbledore. As most people know, Richard Harris passed away and Michael Gambon filled in for him. I would like to say that we here at NGB are huge fans of HP. We are such huge fans that we have been to HP conferences, listen to Wrock, and had our own HP book club while we were all living in the same city. We know just about everything there is to know about HP, films included. It was not a mistake Amber made, but ignorance on your part for not getting the joke.
It is FUNNY that Richard Harris/1st Dumbledore is saying that he hearts Michael Gambon (2nd Dumbledore). Please please PLEASE get the joke! I am begging you! Amber even explained it up in an earlier comment! Argh! Please!!

That’s not even him! That’s richard Harris!!

That’s not Micheal Gambon you nitwit If you knew anything about the films you would know that the original actor for the role of Dumbledore was in fact Richard Harris who died in 2002 so they later cast Micheal Gambon for the role

The only reason I approved this comment was so that if you (That 1 girl) came back and read the comments to see your own, you would realize how inferior your Harry Potter knowledge was to ours.

Also that’s not funny that he would say that nitwit

I swear to goodness, if this post gets any more inane comments, I am going to start replying to people’s emails. O.M.G!
