OMG, I live like 5 minutes away from a shopping MECCA!

Growing up in the Quad Cities, I remember when it was a treat to get to drive an hour to go to Coral Ridge because they had an Old Navy and an Abercrombie & Fitch (not that I was allowed to buy anything there ever because of the half naked pictures of the models on the walls).  It was an even bigger treat when we got to drive 3 hours to Chicago, where EVERYTHING was!  Now, that I live in Nashville, apparently this is also one of those big cities, where all the big shops are!

Yesterday, Andrew and I went shopping.  I wanted to find a khaki skirt and we had a gift certificate to Dillards, so put 2 and 2 together and you get a shopping trip.  Yay!  So we went to The Mall at Green Hills since it’s like 2 miles away from our apartment.  And let me tell you.  First off, we went in at Macy’s.  Macy’s I tell you!  I think there is now a Macy’s in Iowa.  I believe Jordan Creek has one in Des Moines, but I’ve never been to that mall, so I wouldn’t know for sure…unless I googled it, which I refuse to do (for some reason, I don’t like to confirm certain things on this website…usually I turn out to be right, so whatever).  So we walked in at Macy’s and went out to go find Dillards.  While walking to Dillards, which was apparently at the other end of the mall, we saw many other stores that I would usually have to go to Chicago for.  Like J. Crew.  We have a J. Crew!  I freaking love that store!  (Not that I have anything from it, because it’s a little pricey for my budget, but still!)  We have a Brooks Brothers (a big one!), which I also love.  We have an Ann Taylor Loft, AND an Ann Taylor.  There was also a MAC store (as in the computers)…there was another store that said M.A.C., so I guess they have 2 mac stores, but the other one looked like only had like…bags or something in it, so we didn’t go in.  OMG, they also had a SEPHORA.  A Sephora!  I think the first time I ever heard about that store was when Lorelai and Rory from Gilmore Girls were talking about looting one and I was all like, huh?  But then I figured out it was a make-up mecca.  We have some more stores, but I’ve pretty much mentioned the ones I was impressed by that we actually went into.  Well, we didn’t go into Sephora because I don’t need any new make-up right now, and if we had gone in, I think I might have gone crazy.  And I think there’s an entire branch of the mall we didn’t even touch because I got hungry (like the kind of hungry where I was getting cranky, which must be appeased ASAP!) and so we left.  Then we made tacos.

But I didn’t even get a skirt, because all the khaki skirts I saw were either super ugly, or too short, or too pencily.  Good grief, how hard is it to find a freaking skirt?  I know, hard.

Love y’all!

P.S. A cool front is supposed to come through tonight, and it’s only going to be in the low 80s starting tomorrow.  Oh, that is so cold.  Not.

I have an amazing khaki skirt that I think I found at Target. Or maybe Kohls. It’s the perfect length and has pleats, which are lovely for twirling.

What’s the difference between Ann Taylor’s Loft and Ann Taylor?

I think the difference is that Ann Taylor has more than the Loft. At least that’s what my mom always says – the loft isn’t as good as Ann Taylor. Now why they needed to have both in the mall instead of just having Ann Taylor, I’ll never know.
And your skirt sounds super cute!!

I know what you mean about trying to find the perfect skirt, it is really hard………this is probably why I don’t own any skirts.
